We stopped at the dinosaur museum in Price and Richie worked very hard to excavate what he was convinced was a T-Rex fossil. I think it was probably a raptor, but I didn't argue. He was "scientifically uncovering the bones" and I did not want to upset the scientist.
Richie wanted to look like he was racing the Raptor in the background.
Richie and Sophia were thrilled that there were three kittens living at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Richie became especially attached. One day he told me, "Cats follow me. That means they like me." Then, after a short pause and a deep sigh he said, "I wish I could have one of those kitties." He was so gentle and sweet with the kittens, too bad we rent and can't have pets.
The kids named this kitten Meeyowss, and the other two Blackie and Heavy.
Sophia had a wonderful time with her cousin Timothy. He spent a couple days at Grandma's house and they had so much fun together. They shared some jellybeans and were "toasting" with the little cups they were in.
On one of the last days of the visit, Richie did an experiment to see what would happen if he put a kitten on Grace's face; it didn't turn out very well. I thought it was an accident, but Richie eventually told me the truth because he felt so badly about it. He felt so sad about hurting Grace and for lying, but I told him I was proud of him for telling me the truth and that I forgave him.
In these pictures you can see her wound and her little teeth that are growing in.
Grace had a great week spending time with Grandparents. She shared a clementine with Grandma...
...and watched some golf with Grandpa.
We had a fun week, but missed Daddy and were glad to get home to him. The weather was pretty terrible from Salt Lake to Logan, and of course that was the section I drove alone, but luckily there wasn't a single snowflake in Sardine canyon; that was the part of the drive I was most worried about. It was nice to go down, and hopefully Dad will get to go with us next time.
