Suddenly Summer

The other day my husband was on the computer and said, "I'm sure there are things to blog about."  Of course there are and I know it has been a little while since I posted anything.  It was his subtle way of letting me know I should do something on the blog.  So here is what we have been up to in the last month.

Richie's training wheels came off!  He is still a little nervous about it, but he can totally ride his bike without training wheels, he just doesn't trust himself enough to do it really well yet.

Grandma Gail came for a quick visit and helped Grace discover the joy of books.  She would go to the shelf, pick a book and back up into Grandma to let her know she wanted her to pick her up and read to her.

We had two weeks of swimming lessons, even Grace and I did the water babies class.  I don't know if it is good or bad that she is not scared of the water now.

Richie lost his first tooth!  He had been working on that loose tooth for several weeks, so it was super exciting when it finally came out.  The Tooth Fairy left him $1.00 and he was pretty happy about that.

In preparation for the baby's arrival, Grace moved into a big girl bed and into the room with the other kids.  She has made the transition really easily, which is a huge relief for me.  She loves being in the big kid room!

The other kids moved into a bunk bed and they love it!  Making the top bed is hard enough, but doing it with an ever growing baby belly is quite the challenge.

I finished a blessing dress for the baby.  This time I thought I would sew instead of knit the dress.  I had never smocked before, but I thought it would be a fun challenge and it turned out really beautiful.  Now I just need the baby to put it on.

In the middle of all this, about three weeks ago, I ended up in the hospital with a kidney stone.  It was HORRIBLE!  I never want to go through that again, and I don't wish it on anyone else.  The pain was the worst thing I have ever felt.  I was on the labor & delivery floor of the hospital so they could monitor the baby and make sure I didn't go into labor, and luckily she was fine through the whole thing.  It was strange being in Labor & Delivery and then leaving the hospital without a baby.  It has made me really anxious to have the baby and I still have a couple months to go!
