July, part 3: Lagoon

The day after Grace's birthday we went to Lagoon. The first thing we were going to do was ride on Rattlesnake Rapids, but it was closed, so instead Dad, Aunt Sissy, Richie, Sophia and Grace went on the log flume. I was worried about how Grace would do, but she was really excited about it. She said she had fun, but I think it was actually a little too much for her, because she wouldn't go on any other rides the rest of the day, not even the kiddie rides. She made up for it playing on the slides at Lagoon-a-Beach later in the day. Everyone loves Lagoon-a-Beach and we went there in mid-afternoon when it got really hot and played for a couple hours and then we went back into the park for the rest of the day.

The older kid are getting more interested in going on bigger rides, but they aren't quite ready for the really big rides. They went on the green dragon ride over and over and over. The ride little R wanted to go on is called the Jumping Dragon and is bigger and faster than the green dragon, but it was closed for the day. He was pretty disappointed about that, so we decided to go on one that was even bigger and faster. I don't like roller coasters, but I went on it anyway and actually thought it was pretty fun. I'm not sure the kids liked it, though, because they stuck to the smaller rides after that, except for one carnival ride that they tried late in the day that ended up being WAY too much for Sophia. It scared her so much that we think she may have passed-out briefly while she was riding it. I felt so badly that we talked her into riding it, especially because I don't like rides like that myself. Other than that incident we had a really fun day. Josie and Grace were so patient wandering around the park all day while the older kids rode the rides. But they did get to ride the carousel and have lots of snacks and so everyone had a fun day. It was a very long day, but a very fun day.

Down the log flume!

Here they come after the ride. Grace was so cute telling me all about the ride and how brave she was riding on it. She was really brave!

The green dragon.

Carousel time!

Lagoon, summer family fun!
