Christmas in Burley

This year we spent Christmas in Burley and had a wonderful holiday. We had a dellicious Christmas Eve dinner and had the sister missionaries as guests. After the meal they gave a nice lesson about how Jesus was the greatest gift and we should think about what gifts we can give him this coming  year. We had a really nice week with the family and the kids had a great Christmas. The kids got to open pajamas and one other gift on Christmas Eve and they were SUPER excited about Christmas morning. We told them they had to wait until 7 a.m. to come wake us up, but somehow little R got confused and he and Sophia came up at 5:55 to wake us up. Sophia was bouncing up and down and could barely contain her excitement and consequently was NOT happy when we sent them back downstairs. I'm pretty sure they spent the next hour watching the clock because they were back upstairs promptly at 7:00. They spent some time going through their stockings and then moved on to the presents under the tree. Aside from Grace's doll from Santa being broken, everything was great and the kids were all very happy with what they got. Later in the day we got to Skype with Anson and he looks like he is doing great! It was so nice to see his big smile and to talk to him. The next few days were just fun and relaxing. Dad played some board games with the kids, we watched holiday movies, I almost read an entire book, and we went to a movie that little R has wanted to see for a while. It was a great visit and a great holiday!

Grandma Call's decorations are always so beautiful!

Sophia worked really hard on place cards for Christmas Eve dinner.

After I took the first couple pictures Grace said, "Let's pretend we're looking at something up there. It's a rainbow butterfly!"

Sophia and I had matching Jamberry manicures.

The kids were actually excited about opening their pajamas this year.

Look at these goof balls! I love them!

Christmas Eve presents! For some reason all the girls chose to open their gifts from Richie. Josie got a set of Jake and the Neverland Pirates Duplo blocks.

Grace got a Doc McStuffins doctors kit and she immediately started giving checkups.

Richie loved the Minecraft toys from Josie.

Sophia was confused because Grace had told her that she got her a Flutterby Fairy, but this one was from Richie. At first she was really upset that she was going to get two of the same thing, but she got over it.

Sophia's Christmas wish was for it to snow and we were all surprised to wake up to a white Christmas! It was so beautiful, and Sophia was happy to get to build a snow man the next day.

This is some of the Christmas morning fun. I stopped worrying about getting pictures and just enjoyed the rest of the morning.

One of my favorite things this year was that Grace labeled all her gifts by herself. She is getting really good at writing her letters.

We are so blessed that we could be together for Christmas and celebrate the birth of our Savoir. We have had a great year and look forward to another one ahead.
